Regional CPR Courses

NEPHA Public Health Nurse Ashley Pavlakos and Chelmsford Public Health Nurse Darcy Beall have teamed up to offer regional CPR courses. CPR– or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – is an emergency lifesaving procedure when the heart stops beating. Immediate CPR can double or triple the chances of survival after cardiac arrest. Please see the American Heart Association's website to learn more about CPR. To learn when our next course will be offered, please see our events calendar.

NEPHA’s Regional Public Health Nurse, Ashley Pavlakos, is a certified Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor who offers certification courses three times a year for parents, caregivers, and child-serving professionals. Youth Mental Health First Aid is an international, peer-reviewed program offered by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing . The program works with those who regularly interact with children to give them the tools to support youth mental health. To learn when the next NEPHA course will be offered, please see our events page.

Regional Food Safety Courses

In partnership with the Chelmsford Health Department, NEPHA’s Regional Health Inspector will be offering food safety courses for the region. Arielle Castro is a certified ServSafe Instructor and Proctor, and can facilitate certification for food service managers. Please visit our website to learn more about Regional Food Safety courses which will likely launch in Fall 2023.

Regional Community Hoarding Program

According to the Massachusetts Department of Health and Human Services, significant hoarding can put individuals who hoard and their family members at serious risk of health problems, injury, removal of at-risk children or older adults from the home, homelessness, or in the worst case, even death. Oftentimes, local public health needs to balance caring for the social and emotional well-being of people identified as living in hoarding conditions with enforcing important health and safety housing codes. NEPHA is addressing these needs by offering Buried in Treasures courses to help community members with compulsive acquiring, saving, and hoarding. To learn when our next course is, please see our events and training calendar.
